i miss drawing all the time. i have to say that the amount of "art" i've produced this year has been really really disappointing. i remember telling myself during csssa that when i went back to the "real" world, i'd draw everywhere and everyday in my sketchbook. and here i am, six months into my return to normal life and it just didn't really happen.

but why? why not?
partly would be school. the bulk of honors/ap coursework is really a hamper on my free time, and when i do have free time, i'm usually too beaten down to be creative.
partly would be lack of motivation. this one is all me, i can't really explain it but i often just don't feel the urgency to draw and improve. this is not to say that i don't want to, because i'd definitely list art among my top priorities, but it just seems to get overshadowed by day-to-day matters.

although sometimes when i've got my nose to the ground, scrambling to cram or do homework, i'll pick up a pencil to take notes and it just starts to draw. or this tension will build up within me that just screams "LET ME DRAW!" of course, i supress it because well ... if i didn't, i wouldn't get any work done. but all i really want is to live that tension unsurpressed and free.
